CLEMSON INTERFRATERNITY COUNCIL
CHI PHI
ABOUT US
Dating back to 1824, the Chi Phi Fraternity takes the name as the oldest social fraternity. We strive to build better men through brotherhood, social events, and professionalism while upholding our values of truth, honor, and personal integrity.
The Delta Theta Chapter of the Chi Phi Fraternity originated at Clemson in 2000. The chapter had a hiatus in membership until its recolonization in 2016. We now have 121 active brothers.
CHI PHI'S
PHILANTHROPY & SERVICE
The annual Doug Gibson Memorial Golf Tournament is the most notable philanthropic endeavor of ours. The tournament raises money for scholarship funds to be awarded to Chi Phi brothers and other members of Greek Life. Over the last two years, over 150,000 dollars were raised for our student scholarship trust. This money allowed us to award one brother and two other members of Greek life, each with a 4,000 dollar scholarship this past year.

Other philanthropic events include an annual food packaging drive with Rise Against Hunger. Through fundraising and the involvement of brothers, we are able to package over 12,000 meals for children in underserved communities.
Our chapter also gives back to the community through involvement in Habitat for Humanity, Boys and Girls Clubs, and Highway Cleanups.
DUES & NEW MEMBER PERIOD
New Member dues are around $1000 for their first semester. After the new member semester, dues are roughly $850 according to your grade.
The new member period length is 8 weeks. This means that members who receive a bid will be initiated 6 weeks after they receive and accept their bid
HOUSING
We presently possess two properties, each contributing uniquely to our fraternity's experience. Our first property, The Compound, consists of three houses forming a quad, situated just a minute's walk from downtown Clemson. It serves as the hub for on-campus events, including parent weekends, alumni gatherings, and tailgates.
Conversely, The Estate, located in Seneca, sprawls across fourteen and a half acres. Hosting up to sixteen brothers, it boasts a wide variety of amenities such as a pool, a dedicated brotherhood lounge, a river for fishing, a full gym, and much more. Each property enriches the fraternity experience in its own distinctive way.
ACADEMICS & AWARDS
Our brothers take great pride in our commitment to academic excellence, consistently ranking among the top of larger fraternities in GPA. This past year, our brothers achieved an impressive average GPA of 3.334. Beyond academics, we are dedicated to excelling in all areas. In 2023, Clemson Fraternity and Sorority Life recognized us for Outstanding Achievement in Alumni Development, Chapter Development, Fraternity and Sorority Life Involvement, New Member Programming, Philanthropic Service, and Scholastic Achievement. Additionally, we were honored to receive the 2022-2023 Chi Phi National Philanthropic Achievement Award. Among our alumni, Kirk Thomans was recognized as the Alumni of the Year in this cycle.
