CLEMSON INTERFRATERNITY COUNCIL
KAPPA SIGMA
ABOUT US
Kappa Sigma is the largest college social fraternity in the world with more than 200,000 living members, including over 17,000 undergraduates and more than 300 chapters and colonies located throughout the United States and Canada. Founded in 1869 at the University of Virginia, Kappa Sigma International Headquarters is based in Charlottesville, Virginia. The creation of lifelong friendships is a primary benefit of Fraternity membership. The Fraternity fulfills the need of students to belong to an extended family and frequently provides the opportunity to enhance those personal relationships through group living situations. As Brothers, our members have an obligation to have a caring concern for the welfare of our members. Brotherhood is a lifetime commitment; therefore, we should encourage strong alumni-undergraduate relationships for the mutual benefit of the students and the alumni.
DUES & NEW MEMBER PERIOD
The cost to join Kappa Sigma is roughly $1,000 in the new member semester. Every semester, after the new member semester, is roughly $1,000.
The new member period length is 8 weeks. This means that members who receive a bid will be initiated no more than 8 weeks after they receive and accept their bid.
PHILANTHROPY & VALUES
This past spring we hosted our first annual Hogs for Heroes philanthropy event. This event supported Military Heroes Campaign, which directly provides services and support to armed forces veterans and their families.

Our four main Pillars that reflect our values are Fellowship, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service.
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE & HOMECOMING WEEK TRADITION
At the end of each semester, we recognize every brother who has achieved academic excellence by earning a GPA of 4.0 or higher by having a “4.0 dinner.” This is our way of celebrating the academic achievement of our brothers.

With Homecoming being such a great tradition at Clemson, it should come as no surprise that our brothers take great pride in creating such amazing pieces. We typically collaborate with 1 or 2 sororities and spend a lot of time together building and decorating the float from scratch. Our fraternity has a rich history associated with this event as we are currently the reigning overall champions for the 4th year in a row.
